The BMT fourteenth edition aroused enthusiasm in the operators.
An increase of visitors of over 9% and of exhibitors are the best conditions for the 2011 edition.
The Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo keeps its promises: the fourteenth edition has surprised the visitors and the satisfied travel agents have declared that offers
outnumbered compared with the previous year. Also the exhibitors have had in the stands a greater number of contacts, going beyond all previsions and exceeding the number of 400. Furthermore, this year there has been a great increase in the number of visitors coming from the centre-north of Italy, confirming that BMT is more and more an essential event for all the experts.
RISING NUMBERS
“In 2010 the attendance was about 21.800, an increase of over 9% compared with the last year - eclares Angelo De Negri BMT Chairman – These numbers give us a great push toward the ifteenth edition that we are already preparing”. Also the number of the exhibitors has increased, reaching 694. It must be emphasized the return of important operators that have chosen Naples market to present their new catalogues, promote new destinations, invest in emerging countries and find other targets. There were many new entries that,for the first time, have attended the three days of the b2b events in order to make business and new
investments. The enthusiasm and appreciation of these new entries and of big that always attend BMT, have been unanimous.
Exhibitors’ view Costa Crociere has confirmed with conviction that BMT is the only Italian exhibition to whom it wishes to attend. “We have been trusting in this Exhibition for five years - declares Tiziana Della Serra, Marketing and Sales Director of Air Transat - BMT is undoubtedly a must in order to meet, consolidate and develop new profitable partnerships with the travel agencies, tour operators and networks". Also Columbia Turismo has appreciated BMT. “An event we want always to
attend to, an occasion to meet old and new operators of Centre-South of Italy, an area that , last year, has had a great increase, unlike the North that was falling - says Antonfranco Tamasco, planning Manager of the Operatore romano”. The Sales Director of Sprintours Italy, Fabio Giangrande, has stressed the importance of BMT and of South Italy, adding that many investments are directed to Campania Region and to Naples Airport. Positive remarks have been expressed also by Giancarlo Monaco, Sole Director of Chinasia - “We have attended all the editions because we think that BMT is the most important meeting with the b2b tourism”. Furthermore, Greece has already expressed the wish to widen their exhibiting spaces. Also the National Authorities have expressed positive remarks. Lazio Region, come back to Naples after a some years absence, has already decided to double its exhibiting spaces. Basilicata, offering new tourist experiences in the Southern Italy, has had even ten tourist operators, among consortia, accommodation facilities, tour operators and incoming agencies, attending the WorkshopIncoming. The exhibition represents ever more not only an occasion to have visibility but also an operative moment, also for the local authorities. Campania Region and the Province of Naples have arranged conferences and meetings with the operators, in order to talk about the new tourist offers, and the city of Naples has presented the new cultural initiatives of the city to the foreign buyers.
B2B WORKSHOPS
One of the most important characteristics of the Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo consists in giving importance to tour operators, showing itself as a real market place. Even 990 national and international supply operators have met about 1100 national and international demand operators during the apposite workshops: Incoming; Company Tourism, Incentive & Congressi, Lusso Mediterraneo. All the four workshops have had an increase in the number of visitors and participants of superior quality.
FORESIGHTS
Pavilions 2/3 of the incoming area will be soon widened as the increase in the number of the regions – from Emilia to Sicily – attending the exhibition. There will be changes also in the workshop area by confirming once more the importance of Lusso Mediterraneo. Enoturismo, the great novelty of this edition, will be arranged also next year; other Italian regions, besides Campania and Sicily that have attended the 2010 edition, will take part in it.

The initiative will be repeated in the next edition scheduled from the 1st to the 3rd of April, 2011
